In the GEMA online portal, you can do everything that is important for you as a GEMA customer. This is how it works.

Login & registration

  • (I have received an activation code.) Where do I find my customer number?

    Your customer number is at the top right-hand corner, next to the address on an invoice.

  • I have problems with the registration/linking process. What can I do?

    This could be due to various reasons:

    • You are using a browser that does not work. Please use Firefox, Google Chrome, Safari or Edge.
    • Please do not use special characters in your name when you register. Since this is a personal access, please use your own personal first name and family name (no company names).
    • It is possible that you have used the wrong code or the wrong customer number for linking purposes.
    • The password does not comply with the password requirements.
    • Please take care to enter your password correctly. Should the process still not work, please go to Forgot password and select a new password.
    • The confirmation mail ended up in the spam folder. Please always check that folder, too.
    • The link in our confirmation mail is only valid once. If you click on it a second time, you will receive an error message. Request a new confirmation mail in any case by selecting Forgot password.
  • I have no customer number yet. How do I register my event in the Online Portal?

    You register your event in the Online Portal and we then inform you about the customer number.

    This is how it’s done:

    1. Just log into the  Online Portal or re-register.
    2. If you are asked for your customer number, just click on Next without a customer number.
    3. In the Dashboard, please select Price calculator & Registration.
    4. Enter the details of your event and complete the registration.
  • Can you send the code to a different address?

    For technical reasons and reasons of data protection, we can only send the code to the main address/standard address. Sending out the code via e-mail is also not possible for reasons of data protection.

  • Why can I not register with my e-mail address and my code?

    The code we sent to you should only be used for linking the Online Portal and the customer account. It is not your initial password. Please set your own personal password in connection with your e-mail address (and please take the password rules into account). After that, please use the customer number and the code which we sent to you in order to obtain access to your customer details.

  • What do I do if I have not received my code?

    In that case, create an online account first and then request a code yourself, indicating your customer number and an invoice or contract number. 

    Should this not work, our customer centre team is happy to help on +49 (0) 30 58 99 99 58.

  • What do I do if I have lost my code?

    Here we distinguish two cases:

    a) If you wish to obtain the same code again and have not yet linked the Online Portal with the customer account, you can directly request the code in the Online Portal. Log in and the screen below will appear. Now, click on No code received yet? (This also applies if you have lost your code).

    b) If you have already linked the Online Portal and the customer account, our customer centre team will assist you under +49 (0)30 58 99 99 58.

    Our tip: If you are not sure whether a link has been made yet, simply try it out online first.

    The code is always dispatched by post for reasons of data protection. Please expect a delivery time of three days.

    Here we distinguish two cases:

  • How do I obtain a code for linking my online account?

    If you have not yet received a code by post, you can request one in the Online Portal.

    1. Log in to the Online Portal with your e-mail address and password or register again.
    2. You will see a screen asking you to link your customer number. Click on No code received yet?.
    3. Select the invoice or contract number as the identification feature and enter this and your customer number.
    4. Now click on Send and you will receive the code by post to your main/standard address.
  • How do I access the GEMA Online Portal?

    You can access the Online Portal under the link  www.gema.de/portal. You can register for the Online Portal with these two simple steps:

    1. After clicking on Login/Register, you can log in with your e-mail address and password. If you do not yet have an account, click on Register here and log in with your first name, surname and e-mail address. You will receive an e-mail with a confirmation link. Follow the link, set your personal password and log in.
    2. In order to link your customer details with your Online Portal account, please enter your customer number and the code you have been provided with.

    You can now make full use of the Online Portal and do most of your tasks yourself in a simple and quick manner.

  • Why do I need a code?

    You can

    • link your Online Portal account with your customer details,
    • grant access to the Online Portal for your co-workers and colleagues
    • and use the code as an authentication feature for phone enquiries.
  • Whom can I contact if I have problems with the online access?
