GEMA X WISE

AI MUSIC SUMMIT 2025 – shaping the future of music & ai together

When: 12 May 2025 from 2pm to 7pm.
Where: Werksviertel Munich, Am Kartoffelgarten 14, 81671 München
Event organiser: GEMA in cooperation with WISE

The AI Music Summit is an exclusive startup event, organised by GEMA in cooperation with WISE; at the same time, it is the kick-off for the GEMA 2025 General Assembly.

Not only GEMA members but also music creators, tech experts, startups and other players from the music tech ecosystem will meet there. Together, we are going to discuss how artificial intelligence (AI) is changing the music business, focussing on technology-induced opportunities, innovation and how to responsibly deal with this technology.

These questions form the focal point:

  • How can AI become a partner for creatives – instead of replacing them?
  • What does the next generation of AI tools look like for music creators?
  • What does authorship mean when a machine is composing music?
  • How do we protect intellectual property in the AI age?

Whether you are making music, developing technology or are located somewhere between these two worlds - this summit provides you with new perspectives, valuable contacts and specific impulses.

The event will be held in English.

*Funding opportunity for startups: Fraunhofer tech-matching vouchers at the GEMA AI Music Summit

GEMA is actively supporting the development of new technologies, especially if their focus is on creating music imaginatively and on protecting copyright in a digital world. This is why we are working together with the leading research institutes such as Fraunhofer in order to promote innovation in a targeted manner.
As part of the AI Summit, six selected startups will have the opportunity to connect with Fraunhofer. Together, they’ll explore how Fraunhofer researchers can support the further development of their technologies. In addition, the startups have the chance to receive both financial and methodological support for their collaboration through a dedicated funding program.
